Travel Itinerary

Feb 11 - New York – Cairo
Departure from New York to Cairo.

Feb 12 - Arrival in Cairo
Arrival at Cairo International Airport. Welcome by a Spanish-speaking assistant and transfer to the hotel. Overnight.

Feb 13 - Cairo – Luxor
Breakfast included (boxed breakfast due to the early domestic flight). Transfer to Cairo airport for the flight to Luxor.
Arrival in Luxor and visit to Karnak Temple, considered the largest temple in Egypt, with its avenue of rams and its hall of 132 columns. Visit to Luxor Temple, dedicated to the god Amun-Ra, highlighted by the avenue of sphinxes, an obelisk over 25 meters tall, the statues of Ramses II and the Naos.
Transfer to the cruise ship and boarding. Lunch on board. Dinner and overnight on board in Luxor.

Feb 14 - Cruise Luxor – Esna – Edfu
Visit to the Valley of the Kings, home to the tombs of the New Kingdom pharaohs, when Thebes was the capital of Egypt. Visit to the mortuary temple of Hatshepsut, where we can admire the chapels dedicated to Amenirdis I, Shepenupet II and Nitocris I.
Next, a stop at the Colossi of Memnon, two seated statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III, of which only fragments of the base and the 17-meter-high torso remain.
Sailing to Esna and passage through the lock. Sailing to Edfu. Dinner and overnight on board in Edfu.

Feb 15 - Cruise Edfu – Kom Ombo – Aswan
Visit to the Temple of Horus, the best-preserved temple in Egypt and the most important after Karnak. One of its most curious features is its lighting: the rooms become progressively smaller, gradually blocking the light until reaching the dark sanctuary, which is lit only along its central axis.
Sailing to Kom Ombo and visit to the temple dedicated to the gods Sobek and Haroeris, known for its relief of ancient medical instruments. Legend says that since the townspeople did not want to be associated with Sobek, a god representing evil, they added Haroeris as his brother and partner in the temple’s worship.
Sailing to Aswan. Dinner and overnight on board in Aswan.

Feb 16 - Aswan
Visit to the High Dam, once considered the largest dam in the world, 3,800 meters long and 111 meters high. Visit to the Unfinished Obelisk, 42 meters tall and weighing 1,176 tons, in the pink granite quarries.
Visit to Philae Temple, dedicated to the goddess Isis, built in the Greek period and moved to Agilkia Island to save it from the waters of the Nile after the dam was built.
Felucca ride around the islands of Aswan. Overnight on board in Aswan.

Feb 17 - Aswan – Cairo
Disembarkation after breakfast. Free morning, with the option to join the Abu Simbel excursion ($150 per person).
Optional excursion to Abu Simbel
Drive from Aswan to Abu Simbel to see the two temples carved into the rock in 1284 BC by order of Pharaoh Ramses II: one dedicated to the pharaoh himself and the other to his favorite wife, Nefertari. The guided visit lasts about 2 hours, with free time to explore both temples and take photos. The temples are part of the Nubian Monuments open-air museum, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979. They were rediscovered in 1813 and later relocated to an artificial hill to keep them from being submerged after the Aswan dam was built. Return to Aswan.
- Approximate duration: 8 hours.
- Round-trip transfer in an air-conditioned vehicle.
- Local Spanish-speaking guide.
- Visit to the temples.
At the scheduled time, transfer to Aswan airport for the flight to Cairo. Welcome, assistance and transfer to the hotel. Overnight.

Feb 18 - Cairo: Pyramids and Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM)

We will admire the Great Sphinx, with a human head attributed to King Chephren and the body of a lion, and visit the Temple of Chephren.
We continue with a guided visit to the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), the largest museum in the world. We will see the courtyard with the great statue of King Ramses II, the Grand Staircase and the 13 newly opened galleries that house the treasures of Tutankhamun.
Lunch at a traditional restaurant. Transfer to the hotel and overnight.

The tour begins at the Obelisk Tomb and continues through the Siq, a canyon more than 1 km long that opens onto the Treasury, a colossal tomb decorated with columns and sculptures of remarkable beauty.
Continue to the Wadi Rum desert. Arrival at the camp, dinner and overnight.

Feb 22 - Wadi Rum – Amman
