Day 02 - 07 Julio - México - City tour with Xochimilco
Mexico – City tour with Xochimilco. Breakfast at the hotel and departure to enjoy our tour of Mexico City starting with the Palace of Fine Arts, continuing to the main square (Zócalo), also known as Plaza de la Constitución, where colonial buildings mix with the remaining fragments of our Aztec ancestors, such as the Templo Mayor, the base of the Cathedral, and sculptures representing the arrival of the Aztecs to Lake Texcoco. Colonial buildings include the Metropolitan Cathedral (considered the largest cathedral in all of Latin America), the City Hall (where the offices of the governor of the Federal District are located), and the National Palace. Visit to Chapultepec Palace. We continue to the traditional Xochimilco (place of flowers) where we will enjoy a beautiful trajinera ride. During the tour, we will be served a typical dish of the area (drinks not included) accompanied by mariachis and tequila. Return to the hotel. Accommodation.
Day 03 - 8 Julio - Basílica - Teotihuacán
Basilica – Teotihuacán. Breakfast at the hotel and we start our day with a visit to the most anticipated place of the tour, the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe. It is in this sacred place that on December 12, the indigenous Juan Diego, a direct descendant of the Aztec civilization, had the apparition of the Virgin of Guadalupe (affectionately known as Lupita by Mexicans). Time to attend mass, buy souvenirs of the Virgin of Guadalupe, and explore the different temples. Lunch. We continue to Teotihuacán (Place where men become gods and women worship their gods) to visit various temples, including the Temple of the Moon and the Sun (dedicated to the major celestial bodies), the Temple of Quetzalpapalotl (butterfly bird), and the Temple of the Puma. Return to Mexico City. Accommodation at the hotel.
Day 04 - 9 Julio - México – Puebla y Cholula
Mexico – Puebla and Cholula. Breakfast, and at the agreed time, departure to Puebla City, where we will start by visiting the Chapel of the Rosary, previously known as the House of Gold, named so because it is covered with 24-carat gold leaf inside and has baroque decorations. Other highlights of Puebla City include its significant crafts and Talavera works. We continue to Cholula, known for its 365 churches within the municipality. We can also admire the Great Pyramid of Tepanapa, from Nahuatl meaning “Handmade Hill,” with a height of 65 meters. Time for a tour and lunch. At the agreed time, return to the hotel.
Day 05 - 10 Julio – México – New York
Breakfast and departure to visit Chapultepec Castle, a historic building of high symbolic value for Mexicans, whose construction began in 1785 during the government of the Viceroy of New Spain, Bernardo de Gálvez. Originally built as a rest house, it has been adapted for various uses over time: it has been a military college, imperial residence with Maximilian and Carlota (1864-1867), presidential residence, and since 1939, it is the National History Museum.
Continuation to the Blue House, also known as the Frida Kahlo Museum, the home where the artist was born, lived most of her life, and where she spent her final days. Since the late 1950s, this house has been open to the public to fulfill Frida and her husband Diego’s wish to leave what they loved most to the people of Mexico.
In the evening, departure to the airport for your return to New York.
